Nye (1975) stated:-

Athyrma had three originally included species of which two, * A. ganglio Hübner, [1823], and * A. interpuncta Hübner, [1823], were nomina nuda. P. adjutrix is dated from the wrapper of the part and not from the title-page of the volume, 1782.

Poole (1989) included 16 species in the genus ATHYRMA.
