Notes:
Fletcher (1979) stated:-

In a note correcting Warren's original designation, Prout, 1910, Trans. ent. Soc. Lond. 1910: 307, stated that he had learned `from Mr Warren that he entirely misidentified that species [Azelina gabraria Walker]' and that Azelina gabraria Walker sensu Warren, 1895 = Herbita capucina Thierry-Mieg, 1892.

Confirmation of this misidentification exists among Warren's manuscript notes in the BMNH; a pencil drawing of Xylolocha capucina (Thierry-Mieg), representing one of the four specimens from Peru and Bolivia which Warren had studied, is labelled Xylolocha gabraria Walker in Warren's hand-writing; one of the four specimens in the BMNH is similarly labelled.

See Frontispiece 2, fig.11, Herbita capucina Thierry-Mieg, male.

Under Article 70(a) of the Code the case of a misidentified type-species should be referred to the Commission.

Parsons et al. (1999) included only 1 species in the genus XYLOLOCHA.
