Uliolepis was originally proposed in the Geometridae, but has since been transferred to the Lymantriidae by Prout, 1938, in Seitz, Gross-Schmett. Erde 4 (Suppl.): 216.

Watson, Fletcher & Nye (1980) stated:-

U. pilosa is a junior subjective synonym of Ocneria signatoria Christoph, 1893, Dt. ent. Z. Iris 6: 88.
