Watson, Fletcher & Nye (1980) stated:-

A junior homonym of Trichosoma Rudolphi, 1819, Entozoorum Synopsis: 13, Nematoda. The objective replacement name is Somatrichia Kirby, 1892.

Trichosoma Rambur was placed by Ferguson, 1978, in Dominick, Moths Am. N. of Mexico 22 (2): 58, as a junior subjective synonym of Orgyia Ochsenheimer, 1810, in the Lymantriidae, on the basis of an incorrect type-species.
