S. personata is a junior subjective synonym of Raphia frater Grote, 1864, Proc. ent. Soc. Philad. 2: 435, pl.9, fig. 7.

Fletcher (1979) stated:-

This genus was originally proposed in the Thyatiridae, but has since been transferred to the Noctuidae, where it was placed by Smith, 1893, Bull. U.S. natn. Mus. 44: 32.

Poole (1989) included RHAPHIA Agassiz, 1847; ANODONTA Rambur, 1858 (preoccupied); CERTILA Walker, 1865; and SALIGENA Walker, 1865 as junior synonyms of RAPHIA Hübner, 1821.
