Nye (1975) stated:-

Available, but without included species until Hampson, 1910, ibidem 9: xi, 264. Ramesodes was the spelling adopted by Hampson, 1910, as first reviser, from a multiple original spelling. Ramesodes was used in the phylogenetic table facing page 2, and * Rampsodes was used in the key to genera on page 17.

Poole (1989) included RAMESODES in the subfamily AMPHIPYRINAE, subsequently restricted to the genus AMPHIPYRA by Kitching & Rawlins, in Kristensen (1999). Other genera formerly treated in the subfamily AMPHIPYRINAE are treated as HADENINAE by Kitching & Rawlins (loc. cit.).

Poole (1989) included 5 species in the genus RAMESODES.
