Fletcher (1979) stated:-
The original designation by Warren of Physocleora punctilla Schaus is invalid, as the latter was at that time a nomen nudum.
Parsons et al. (1999) included 36 species in the genus PHYSOCLEORA.
Pitkin (2002) included Stenalcidia Warren, 1897 as a junior synonym of Physocleora Warren, 1897.
