Notes:
Nye (1975) stated:-

Duponchel's type-species designation was ignored by Hampson, 1918, Novit. zool. 25: 190, 383, who cited as type-species Noctua adulatrix Hübner, [1813], and based a subfamily Phlogophorinae (now known as Euteliinae) on this concept.

Poole (1989) included PHLOGOPHORA in the subfamily AMPHIPYRINAE, subsequently restricted to the genus AMPHIPYRA by Kitching & Rawlins, in Kristensen (1999). Other genera formerly treated in the subfamily AMPHIPYRINAE are treated as HADENINAE by Kitching & Rawlins (loc. cit.).

Poole (1989) included SOLENOPTERA Duponchel, 1845; BROTOLOMIA Lederer, 1857; HABRYNTIS Lederer, 1857; RACOPTERA Scott, 1858; CHUTAPHA Moore, 1882; and MESOLOMIA Smith, 1893 as junior synonyms of PHLOGOPHORA Treitschke, 1825.

Poole (1989) included 52 species in the genus PHLOGOPHORA.
