Philometra Grote was originally placed as a subgenus of Herminia Latreille, 1802. A junior homonym of Philometra Costa, 1846, Annali Accad. Aspir. Nat. Napoli 3: 80, - Vennes, Nematoda. The objective replacement name is Epidelta nom. n. [Nye, 1975].
