Watson, Fletcher & Nye (1980) stated:-

H. taurica is dated from the original wrappers of the parts containing it and not from the title-page, 1845. H. taurica is a junior subjective synonym of Heliothis treitschkii Frivaldszky, 1835, Magy. Tud. Tars. Evk. 2 (2) 273., pl.7, fig.8, (but cited as * Heliotis, an incorrect subsequent spelling).

Poole (1989) included PHILARETA Moore, 1881as a junior synonym of PYRRHIA Hübner, 1921.
