Fletcher (1979) stated:-

Proposed unnecessarily as an objective replacement name for Panopaea Meyrick, 1883, which is not preoccupied by * Panopaea, Lamarck, 1818, Hist. nat. Anim. sans Vertèbres 5: 456 nor by * Panopaea, Adams, 1856, Genera Recent Mollusca 2: 351; both are incorrect subsequent spellings of Panopea Ménard de la Groye, 1807. Nor is it preoccupied by * Panopaea, Felder, 1861, Nova Acta Acad. Caesar. Leop. Carol. 28 (3): 27, an incorrect subsequent spelling of Panopea Hübner, [1819].
Pancyma was again proposed by Meyrick, 1886, Trans. N.Z. Inst. 18: 184.

See: PANOPAEA Meyrick, 1883.
