Genus:
Oxydercia ; Agassiz, 1847 . Nomencl. zool. (Index univ.) : 267.

Status:
Unjustified Emendation

Homonyms: 1

Higher classification:
NOCTUOIDEA : NOCTUIDAE : CALPINAE

Notes:
Nye (1975) stated:-

An unjustified emendation of Oxidercia Hübner, [1825]. Neave, 1940, Nomencl. zool. 3: 495 was in error in citing 'Oxydercia Folder, 1873, Reise Novara, Zool. 2, Abt. 2: Lep. Het., Explan. Pls. cviii-cxl, 15.- Lep. (Noctuid.)' as the original reference of this name. In the caption to the figure itself (pl.1 fig. 24) Oxydercia was attributed to 'Hüb. Verz. 340'.

Poole (1989) included OXYDERCIA Agassiz, 1847; GANGRA Walker, 1862 (as GONAGRA on page 748); and PARANYMPHA Butler, 1879 as junior synonyms of OXIDERCIA Hübner, 1825.
