Nye (1975) stated:-

Cited by Neave, 1940, Nomencl. zool. 3:344, as a nomenclaturally available name, but this is not so as Hübner was merely using Ochsenheimer's genus. The first of the names included by Hübner was N. typhae.

See: NONAGRIA Ochsenheimer, 1816.

Poole (1989) included NONAGRIA in the subfamily AMPHIPYRINAE, subsequently restricted to the genus AMPHIPYRA by Kitching & Rawlins, in Kristensen (1999). Other genera formerly treated in the subfamily AMPHIPYRINAE are treated as HADENINAE by Kitching & Rawlins (loc. cit.).
