Record from the BMNH card index of Lepidoptera names, where it is given as a junior synonym of CATEPHIA [Ochsenheimer, 1816].

According to the index card in the BMNH index of Lepidoptera names the type-species of ANOPLIA is leucomelas Linn. sensu St[audinger], but the associated species index card attributes leucomelas to Esp[er] Schmett iv. pl.cvii, f.2 (nec. Linn.) as a junior synonym of Catephia alchymista (Schiff[ermüller], 1776). We have not checked the original reference!
