Higgins, 1965, Entomologist 98: 242 considered that L. riparia was established by Boisduval and was later redescribed by Rambur, 1829, Annls Sci. Observ. 2: 261, pl.6, fig.3, as Noctua riparia and attributed to Boisduval.

Anapoma is the objective replacement name for the preoccuppied name Apoma Berio, 1980, nec Beck, 1937, (in the Mollusca) by Berio, 1980, Bollettino Della Societa Entomologica Italiana 112 (1-3) : 40.
