A junior homonym of Hyperthaema Schaus, 1901 March. There is no objective replacement name but the type-species of Hyperthaema Hampson, 1901 [July] is currently considered to be congeneric with the type-species of Hyperthaema Schaus, 1901 March. The latter is therefore available for use as a subjective replacement name.
