Notes:
Watson, Fletcher & Nye (1980) stated:-

but cited as * `ipomeae', an incorrect subsequent spelling of Glaucopis ipomoeae Harris, 1839, a nominal species not originally included in Hippola Walker. Hampson, on page 307, placed ipomoeae as the senior synonym of ferox, a nominal species originally included in Hippola. Under the Code, Article 69(a)(iv), this designation constitutes the fixation of the originally included name as the type-species.

E. ferox is a junior subjective synonym of Glaucopis ipomoeae Harris 1839, Am. J. Sci. 36: 316. Hippola was established as a subgenus of Euchromia Hübner, [1819].
