Fletcher & Nye (1984) stated:-

Placed on the Official List of Generic Names in Zoology with Name No. 1326 by the I.C.Z.N., 1959 Opin. Decl. int. Commn zool. Nom. 20 (Opinion 536): [27].

Hellula was established in the Scoparidae, now Pyralidae Scopariinae; it was placed in the Pyralidae Pyraustinae by Hampson, 1896 Fauna Br. India (Moths) 4: 373; and transferred to the Pyralidae Glaphyriinae by Munroe, 1964 Can. Ent. 96: 1261.

HELLULA was included within the subfamily CRAMBIDAE: GLAPHYRIINAE by Munroe & Solis, in Kristensen (1999).
