Helia Guenée, 1854 was treated in the Noctuidae, Hypeninae/Herminiinae in Nye, 1975, Generic Names Moths World, 1 : 182.

The senior objective synonym of Helia Guenée, 1854, Epizeuxis Hübner, 1818 was transferred from the Herminiinae to the Hypeninae within the Noctuidae by Tikhomirov, 1979, Trudy Zoologicheskogo Instituta Akademii Nauk SSSR 82 : 88. Helia Guenée, 1854 is also transferred to the Hypeninae here.
