Notes:
Nye (1975) stated:-

Hapigia was originally placed in the Noctuidae.

Watson, Fletcher & Nye (1980) stated:-

From a multiple original spelling in which Hapigia was used twice (on pages 375 and 376), and * Hapygia was used three times (in the legend to pl.12; in the 'Explication des Planches' part 1, page 6; and in the index in volume 7, page 408, also published in 1852), we have adopted Hapigia, the spelling in current use, as the correct original spelling.

Hapigia was established in the Noctuidae; it was placed in the Notodontidae by Druce, 1887, Biologia cent.-am. (Zool.) Lepid.-Heterocera 1: 243.
