Notes:
Fletcher (1979) stated:-

A junior homonym of Amastris Stâl, 1860, K. svenska VetenskAkad. Handl. (N.F.) 3 (6): 29 - Hemiptera. There is no objective replacement name, but A. encausta is congeneric with Sestra fusiplagiata Walker, [1863], the type-species of Sestra Walker, [1863]; the latter is thus available as a subjective replacement name.

Amastris was again proposed by Meyrick, 1884, Trans. N.Z. Inst. 16: 104.

See: SESTRA Walker, [1863] 1862.

Parsons et al. (1999) included AMASTRIS Meyrick, 1883; and PSEUDOSESTRA Butler, 1882 as junior synonyms of SESTRA Walker, 1863.
