Two panoramic views of the coastline around the Cape of Good Hope arranged one above the other, each framed with a black ink border with navigational notes below. The top drawing shows a more distant view, with specific points labelled "a" and "b" with an identification key below. The mountains are coloured grey, those closer to the shore being modelled with shading and the most distant peaks more even pale blue-grey. The drawing below shows more detail on the cliff faces and sandy beaches at the base of the central peaks. The sea is represented by a pale blue-grey wash overlaid with short grey horizontal brush marks in the foreground, and the skies are largely unpainted except for blue washes towards the top. The drawings are framed with a thick black ink line and a triple-banded border, the central band of which is coloured with a pink wash and contains the title at the top. The signature and date are located in the inner band at lower right. Most of the outer band appears to have been lost through the drawing having been cropped.
