Bird in profile, facing to the left with its back slightly arched, perched on a tree stump with some foliage attached and landscape view of distant hills at its base. The bird has golden brown upper parts with darker feathers in the wings and tail, and a black patch behind the eye. The throat and breast are white to grey with grey flecks, and the belly and legs are grey flecked with brown, and overlaid with hatched lines. The drawing is framed by a pencil border and annotated in ink and pencil.
