Bird in flight, facing to the left, depicted against a pale blue sky with unpainted areas representing clouds, and over water represented by a gradated wash of blue through yellow, pink, blue and grey, overlaid with short grey horizontal lines. The bird has a red-yellow bill. Its body is predominantly white overlaid with pale grey and ochre hatched lines, with black around the eye and on the wing tips. The tail consists of two long plumes with black shafts and red barbs. The drawing is framed by a double black ink border close to the edge of the sheet, and annotated in ink and pencil.
