Bird in profile, facing to the left, perched on a branch against a plain background. The upper parts of the bird are predominantly black - dark brown, with a white band across the wing and on the edges of the tail. The breast is red and the belly grey. The drawing is framed by a pencil border and annotated in ink and pencil.
