Portrait of an Aboriginal man, framed in tondo with a grey ink border measuring 9.1 cm. in diameter. His body is facing forwards and his head turned in profile to the right. Hecarries a water basket on his left shoulder, supported by his left hand. The man has jaw-length black hair decorated with hanging bone and tooth decorations. His skin is brown, with black and red-ochre marks on his upper arms and chest representing cicatrices, and overlaid with white zig-zag decoration up his arms to his shoulders, and down across his chest. The background is plain. The drawing is annotated in brown ink.
