Head-and-shoulders portrait of a young, beardless Aboriginal man named as Bi-Gong. His torso is turned slightly to the right with his left shoulder lowered, and his head turned to give a frontal view with the eyes looking out towards the viewer. He is holding a spear in his right hand, the top of a shield is visible to the right of the composition. The background is shaded slightly behind the figure. The drawing is framed by a pencil border, inscribed with the man's name in pencil, and annotated in brown ink.
