Proceeding the 3rd International workshop on indoor allergens and
asthma. Cuenca. Spain. June 30-July 2, 1995. UCB Institute of allergy???

Subject: A bifid R seta
Dear Ascidae specialists,
My colleague  I have Iranian specimens similar to Lasioseius youcefi Athias-Henriot but by chance we observed that setae R3 are forked/bifid. It is not an anomaly because we found it in another specimen too. It is very easy to overlook, therefore that previous revisers of this species may have missed it. All we ask is if any of you with reference material of this species will be so kind as to check if setae R3 are also bifid in your specimens.
            Thanking you in advance,
            Kind regards

Subject: Cocciopolipus phylogeny.....

Dear All,

I am looking at the phylogenetic relationship between a host and parasite - ladybirds and their sexually transmitted mites, Cocciopolipus spp, but I am not sure what genes to use.

If anyone has any suggestions as to which genes to use to construct a robust mite phylogeny to examine both inter- and intra-specific relationships I would be very grateful.

Thanks,

Suzanne Leibel

Subject: DIRECTORY OF ACAROLOGISTS OF THE WORLD 2002

Attention Acarologist

1. Directory UPDATED-2002 is the latest draft release (as of 03/31/2002) of the Directory of Acarologists of the World being prepared for the XIth International Congress of Acarology, Merida, Mexico, September 8-13, 2002.

This draft includes data on 1266 acarologists, but is not as comprehensive as it could be. If you have sent me your data, can you check this draft to ensure that I have copied it correctly. Especially, check email addresses.
If you have not sent me your data, please do so - I will be accepting additional data for the Directory and corrections until June 2002.

2. Directory UPDATED-1992 is the database version of:
Welbourn C. 1992. Acarologists of the World: A Directory.

This monumental compilation included data on nearly 1900 acarologists from 84 countries. The database version of this volume has had duplicate information with Directory UPDATED-2002 removed, but still contains information that is incomplete or incorrect or no longer relevant. The IEC appreciates any help possible in correcting data in this Directory also, as it will be combined with the above Directory in June 2002.

The International Executive Committee (IEC) thanks Dr. Zhi-Qiang Zhang for hosting this draft on the Acarology homepage (http://www.nhm.ac.uk/hosted_sites/acarology/).

Please send all new Directory information, or corrections to me by mail, email or fax. Thank you

Subject: P. persimilis

Dear all,

Within the scope of a PhD-project we screen Phytoseiulus persimilis from
different origins for Wolbachia. We, therefore, would highly appreciate
to obtain samples of P. persimilis from lab cultures, mass rearings and
- most wanted - from naturally occurring field populations.

Please contact us at schausbp@edv1.boku.ac.at and/or
menigl@edv1.boku.ac.at if you are willing to contribute to our project
by sending a P.persimilis sample.

Thanks a lot in advance
