School visits to the Museums at South Kensington and Tring

Due to Health and Safety guidelines we are unable to welcome back large group visits, including school groups, until further notice. This is for both self-guided visits and booked workshops and shows.

We are currently working on a plan for school visits to return, as well as exciting opportunities for us to connect with you digitally in school. Please email school-bookings@nhm.ac.uk if you have any questions about the Museum at South Kensington.

For information on our Museum at Tring, please email tring-bookings@nhm.ac.uk.

We look forward to welcoming you and your students back as soon as we can. Sign up to our Teachers' newsletter to be the first to hear when school bookings re-open.

You can also browse our range of learning resources that can support your lessons.

Take on the role of an explorer and go on a magical adventure in the Museum’s Wildlife Garden.

Pupils will be provided with explorer hats, magnifying glasses and special explorer booklets to discover the amazing biodiversity of the Museum’s beautiful Wildlife Garden.

The session is facilitated by an enthusiastic and experienced science educator. Pupils will learn how to explore nature and enjoy discovering the diverse world of plants and minibeasts. They will be encouraged to make observations and to share their ideas as a group.

Teachers and accompanying adults will also be provided with explorer kits to support their adventure with their pupils.

Learning themes: using the senses, plants and animals in their local environment, minibest, habitats and homes, leaf colours and shapes, variation among plants and animals, biodiversity
