When the global Covid-19 pandemic hit, Museum PhD student Jaz Millar was in one of the most remote and inhospitable regions on Earth – Antarctica.

Jaz was researching microscopic life in Antarctica when news reached them that the rest of the world was locking down as Covid-19 spread rapidly around the world. With transport shutting down and countries closing their borders Jaz was trapped at the end of the Earth.

Join us to discover what Jaz was researching in Antarctica, their experience of being trapped far from family and friends during a global emergency and how they eventually made it home again many months later.
