Members Family Morning: Discovering Dinosaurs
Get stuck into a whole host of fun activities, including hands-on crafts and specimen show-and-tell at our members family morning.
Join us nice and early for a fun-filled morning of activities before we open our doors to the public for the day.
Themed around the extraordinary dinosaur collection we care for, you’ll see fascinating specimens up close, get exclusive early access to a few of our galleries and have a go at some Cretaceous crafting.
You’ll have the opportunity to try your hand at excavating with a palaeontologist and learn expert techniques. Then, settle in for a dinosaur-themed story time in the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition.
Why not spend your Saturday morning roaring around our Dinosaurs Gallery, buzzing about our Creepy Crawlies Gallery and wandering around our Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition. Plus, our cafe will be open for you to purchase breakfast.

- Our building in South Kensington is fully accessible for wheelchairs and buggies and we have several baby changing facilities and accessible toilets.

Visiting information
- There’s a maximum of two children per adult.
- Tickets are non-transferrable, and no refunds or exchanges will be given.
- Tickets to this event are available to Members only, so please bring your Membership Card with you.
- This event is best suited to those aged 5-11, but children of all ages are welcome.
- Activities are designed so that children participate in them with their parent/s or guardian/s.
- We reserve the right to make any necessary changes to the event as required, such as adjusting the locations, timings or content of the activities, to ensure we deliver a safe and excellent experience for all guests at all times.
- We open to the public at 10.00, so some activities will end at 09.30 to allow time to pack down, will notify you of this in the joining instructions.
- Only some of our spaces will be open during the event. The rest will open at 10.00 when we open to the public, at which point you’re welcome to stay and explore these.
- We will send you an email with more information a few days before the event to help you prepare for your visit.
