For nearly four decades, pioneering photographers Carol Beckwith and Angela Fisher have travelled in Africa, recording and documenting ceremonies and cultures.
They witnessed ceremonies that had been unseen outside of the cultures from which they originate - fireside rituals around grass huts of the San in the Kalahari Desert, Sufi Mawlid ceremonies in the night-time streets of Cairo, spectacular mask-dancing festivals of Burkina Faso and more. Around half of the ceremonies they have documented will never occur again.
To mark the recent publication of African Twilight, Carol and Angela will discuss their work and present never-before-seen images and films from their careers.
Guests will have a chance to ask questions following the talk.
