This event is now sold out.

Join us our Attenborough Studio for a unique drawing class for Members with wonderful wolves in collaboration with Wild Life Drawing.

These 'wolves' are actually British Lupine dogs that are perfectly tame and loyal domestic pets as well as being perfect wolf look-a-likes – they have pure wolf in their bloodline. They still retain their pack mentality, eat only raw meat and howl at the full moon. They also love cuddles and roll over for belly rubs!

The class will be introduced to the 'wolves' with a short talk by canine behavioural scientist and 'Head Wolf' Natalie Lagstrom. You will look in detail at their anatomy and how they've evolved to adapt to habitats across the globe. As we near Halloween, we'll also discuss famous wolves in stories and fairy tales.

As well as drawing these amazing animals, you will learn about conservation issues facing wild wolves. Our wolf experts are full of facts and will be ready to answer any questions. Everyone can have a stroke and a cuddle at the end!

All drawing materials are supplied, including paper and drawing boards, but feel free to bring colours or any specific media you might like to use. Drawing tips and creative guidance will be provided throughout, with workshop leader Jennie Webber on hand to help. The aim of these drawing classes is to inspire appreciation and understanding for the animals and their conservation.

Wild Life Drawing works with the finest animal handlers, sanctuaries and organisations. These British Lupine dogs are friendly and safe, they are devoted domestic pets and are cared for to the highest possible degree by an expert in their species. All the animals that attend the sessions are well used to humans and different environments and are always accompanied by experienced handlers: their welfare is our highest priority.

This class is suitable for adults and children aged seven and older. Children must be accompanied by an adult also taking part in the class.
