Emerge Festival: Lost in the Museum
Get Lost in the Museum
Join us for a unique line-up of talks spanning life and death, in collaboration with Lost Lectures.
28 September, 19.00-23.30
Tickets: from £15
For one night only, the Museum will team up with Lost Lectures for Lost in the Museum, a special collaboration as part of Emerge Festival.
Get ready for a lecture lucky dip, with an eclectic mix of talks spanning life and death - from the communication that makes us human to debunking the dodo. You will explore the Museum's iconic spaces after hours and hear from leading scientists and celebrated creatives. This is a unique adventure for the most curious of minds.
Among the many talks, the evening will feature Bellatrix, one of the world's most prolific female beatboxers, who has achieved accolades as four-time UK beatboxing champion and twice World beatboxing champion. Her talk and performance, co-created with leading natural scientists, will be a world first in many ways: not least the first time a beatboxer and a Stegosaurus have ever shared a stage!
You will also experience Luke Jerram's stunning installation Museum of the Moon after hours, while music brings atmosphere to the thinking and drinking under Hope the whale until 23.30.
Talks will run from 19.00 until 21.30. Be sure to arrive early as the capacity of each talk is limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
Lost in the Museum is part of Emerge Festival, a creative kaleidoscope of events across 11 London boroughs taking place in museums, galleries, historic houses and visual arts venues over Friday 27 and Saturday 28 September. With just one ticket, visitors will have access to all the night’s venues and some of the best breakthrough artists in town.
Further news and speaker announcements will be made in the coming weeks.
