To the Moon and back
Event type: Talk, meet the scientist
Location: Attenborough Studio

The first spacecraft to reach the surface of the Moon landed in 1959, after a mission led by the Soviet Union.
Since then, numerous missions have returned including manned ones, the last of which was led by NASA in 1972.
What did we learn from these missions? Why should we go back to the Moon? Where should we go?
Join Museum scientist Natasha Almeida to explore the intensive planning and preparation required for missions to the Moon.
Find out how close we might be to revisiting our natural satellite.
