Description | Mammoth and South Park Groves. Printed pamphlet describing the giant redwood trees in California. The front page has 'Mammoth Grove Hotel' at the top, then J L Sperry, proprietor, followed by a picture of the trees with the hotel in the middle and a man by a tree in the f/g. Underneath the trees is printed 'Big trees, Calaveras Co., Cal.'. The verso of the front page has pen and ink annotation and drawings of trees by A R Wallace made during his lecture tour to North America in 1886-1887. He gives measurements and notes on named tress. There are annotations between the text, underlining and circling of text and a drawing of a grove of trees with notes at the end of the article. Foundn in a folder 'Notes and letters relating to A R W's trip to North America'. Notes: 25.5 x 20.5 cm, 25.5 x 40.5 cm unfolded.
