AdminHistory | George Alexander Bisset was appointed Assistant Keeper (2nd Class), Department of Entomology Lepidoptera Section 21 Jan 1935; he was appointed to (lst Class) 21 Jan 1943. He took a voluntary secondment to Ministry of Agriculture in 1940, to work on wireworm survey at Midland Agricultural College, Sutton Bonington, Loughborough. Returning to the Museum in Nov 1940, by December he had moved to How Caple Court, Herefordshire with the evacuated collections. He became a pilot officer in the RAF and was serving with RAF Voluntary Reserve 207 Squadron when he was killed in action on the 2 Mar 1943 aged 34. |
