Gordon Beningfield was one of Britain's most talented wildlife and countryside artists.

On the twentieth anniversary of Gordon Beningfield's death, a range of organisations are coming together to offer events celebrating the artist's life and work, to help get you closer to the beautiful wildlife he loved so much.

July weekend event at Tring

Saturday 16 - Sunday 17 June at Great Gaddesden

Big Wild Weekend: Enjoy a flower festival celebrating Beningfield's English countryside at St John the Baptist Church. Partake in family activities and events in the water meadows along the River Gade with Herts and Middlesex Wildlife Trust. Take a guided walk with Water End and Upper Grade Conservation Society. More details.

Friday 29 June and Saturday 21 July at Aldbury Nowers Nature Reserve

Search for summer butterflies and flora with the Herts and Middlesex Wildlife Trust. More details

Saturday 7 July at Tring Park

Join the Upper Thames Branch of Butterfly Conservation on a walk to see a range of summer grassland and woodland butterflies. More details and bookings.

Sunday 8 July at Millhoppers Pasture Reserve

Enjoy a walk to visit Butterfly Conservation's only reserve in the Hertfordshire and Middlesex area. See summer butterflies on a site where 20 different species have been recorded. More details and bookings.
