2011: 15-17 Years - Highly Commended
Marton Schaul (Hungary)
Pasque flower at sunset
Each spring Marton likes to photograph greater pasque flowers, always looking for fresh ways to show them in their natural habitat. He goes to the forest of Szárhalom, in Hungary, where he knows lots of them will be in flower in the mountain meadows. This year, there were a series of spectacular dawns, which gave Marton an idea for a new picture. He didn't use any special techniques, just lay down on the ground as the sun went down and positioned it exactly where he wanted it in the frame.
Sony Alpha A200 + Sigma 70-300mm f4-5.6 lens at 200mm; 1/80 sec at f5; ISO 100; Vanguard tripod.
