2006: 15-17 Years - Highly Commended
Avi Kenny (United States of America)
Goose bath
Avi went down to his local lake to get some Canada goose action. He noticed that after bathing they flapped their wings vigorously to dry themselves off, and he decided to concentrate on this behaviour. As this individual flapped itself dry, he snapped one fast shot. 'I was lucky that the light was quite dull,' he says, 'bringing out the beautiful, subtle colours of the plumage against the water'.
Canon EOS 300D with 400mm lens; 1/640 sec at f6.3; 200 ISO.
