2006: In Praise of Plants and Fungi - Highly Commended
Per-Olov Eriksson (Sweden)
Bracken among heather
Walking through woodland early one August morning in the western part of county Nàrke, in Sweden, Per-Olov came across a glorious carpet of heather. 'The impact of the colour and the fragrance took my breath away,' he says, 'and it was hard to represent the beauty of the scene'. Early morning here can be 'truly magic', he adds, 'poetry for both mind and soul'.
