2006: The Eric Hosking Portfolio Award - Winner
Serkan Günes (Sweden)
Autumn waterfall
It was Serkan's last day in Norway. He had already taken hundreds and hundreds of scenics and filled up all his memory cards. Then, in the southwest county of Møre og Romsdal, he was faced with the most beautiful autumn scene of all. He had no choice but to delete pictures from a memory card to take advantage of this mouth-watering sight. The rapids far below were a wonderful turquoise. 'When I found the perfect foreground - a carpet of autumn colour sprinkled with lichen,' he adds, 'I knew I could sit back and let the scenery speak for itself'.
Canon EOS 20D with 24mm f2.8 lens; 10 secs at f16; 100 ISO; tripod.
