Orang-utan feast

Dangling like festive baubles, rambutan fruit adorned several trees near a research camp in Sabah, Malaysia. For a photographer, it was a feast for the eye. For a young male orang-utan, just a feast. The ape developed such a taste for the seasonal delicacy that he returned to the spot several days in a row. He would settle himself on a branch and deftly rip open the leathery fruit cases and pluck out the plump flesh. He became so engrossed in his task that not even a torrential downpour could come between him and his sweet tooth.
