The search for the Veolia Environnement Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2012 has begun.
Closing date for entries is 23 February 2012
Before you enter, please ensure you have read the competition Adult rules or Young rules and digital guidelines. Translations of the rules and categories are available in French, Finnish, German, Italian, Polish, Spanish, Russian and Chinese.

To enter the competition you will need
- a valid email address
- your credit/debit card details if you are entering the Adult competition to pay the £20 entry fee
- a broadband connection to upload your entries
Dates for your diary
- 23 February 2012 – Competition closes (23.59 GMT).
- 3 - 17 April 2012 – Entrants who have an image(s) in the final round of judging will be notified and asked to submit their original files and transparencies.
- Mid-May 2012 – Winning photographers notified.

- Share part of a £30,000 prize fund, with £10,000 for the overall winner.

- published in BBC Wildlife Magazine.
- enjoy international exposure through the Wildlife Photographer of the Year website - more than half a million page views were received on the day the winners were announced.
