(Claw of Baryonyx walkeri) Baryonyx means 'heavy claw'. Unusually for a carnivorous dinosaur we know it ate fish as scientists have found fish scales and teeth with its fossil where its stomach would have been.

School visits

Sensational Butterflies is open to school groups from Monday to Friday during term time until 15 September 2013.

The exhibition is suitable for Key Stage 1 and 2. There are links to the curriculum at Key Stage 1,2 and 3.

School pupils can visit the Sensational Butterflies exhibition for the discounted price of £2.50 per pupil. Accompanying adults visit for free.

To book discounted tickets call the schools booking team on +44 (0)20 7942 5555. Payment must be received at least 2 weeks in advance in order to secure your booking. School group visits are 45 minutes long. The maximum group size is 30 pupils. 1:8 minimum ratio required.
