Win a trip to South Africa

Win a trip for two to the Cradle of Humankind, one of the world’s richest ancestral human fossil sites, in our Britain: One Million Years of the Human Story free prize draw.

Meet the ancestors

Located near Johannesburg, South Africa, the Cradle of Humankind was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1999 and continues to yield new discoveries that offer an incredible window into our past.

One of the most important areas of the site is the world-famous Sterkfontein Caves. These limestone caves are home to the longest palaeo-anthropological excavation in the world and have produced a wealth of early hominin fossils.
