(Claw of Baryonyx walkeri) Baryonyx means 'heavy claw'. Unusually for a carnivorous dinosaur we know it ate fish as scientists have found fish scales and teeth with its fossil where its stomach would have been.

Make our famous and much-loved dinosaur in the Central Hall light up and roar!

We are asking our visitors to light up Dippy, our iconic Diplodocus skeleton, to help us raise money for our £8.5 million Central Hall appeal.

How to light up Dippy

You can light up Dippy when you donate via an SMS text or at the kiosk in the Central Hall. You'll find out  how to text at the Dippy display and the donation kiosk has details about choosing Dippy's colour and how to make the dinosaur roar.

As a special thank you from Dippy, you'll see your name in lights when you donate.

This is a great way for you to show your support for the Museum. All donations to see Dippy light up are gratefully received and will help us revitalise the Central Hall and its specimens.
