The Café Bar and viewing platform are open to non-skaters and do not require a ticket.

We are running a number of sessions for wheelchair users throughout the season where you can be joined on the rink by friends and family. Find out more about wheelchair sessions.

Opening times

The Ice Rink is open from 5 November – 17 January from 10.00 to 22.00 on weekdays and 08.45 to 22.00 weekends, with the following exceptions:

Ticket prices

  • Children (12 and under): £8.50 peak / £8 off-peak
  • Adults: £13 peak / £11.50 off-peak
  • Family ticket (2 adults and 2 children or 1 adult and 3 children): £34.50 peak / £31 off-peak
  • Concessions: £10.50 off-peak only

Groups of 20+ pay no booking fee during peak sessions. Groups of 10+ pay no booking fee during off-peak sessions. To book a group visit for 10 or more people, please call Ticketmaster on 0844 847 2527.

To book tickets online, visit the Ticketmaster website. When booking your tickets, please make sure you select your chosen time from the drop-down menu. Booking fees apply.

Book by phone

Call the 24-hour Ticketmaster credit card hotline on 0844 847 1576. Tickets are subject to a booking fee and a £1.95 processing fee per transaction. Booking fee: child 75p, adult £1.20, family £1.96. There is no booking fee for school groups.

Book in person at the Museum

From 5 November tickets are available from the Ice Rink box office in the Museum gardens. Booking fees apply. The box office is open from 10.00 on weekdays and from 08.45 at weekends, and closes shortly after the start of the final skate session. School groups

£7 per student for school groups of 10 or more (teachers go free). School group rates apply to school children between the ages of 5 and 16 years. Find out more about school group bookings.

Skating sessions

  • Peak-time sessions include all weekend sessions and all weekday sessions after and including 17.15. Additionally, all sessions between 7 December and 1 January, excluding the 08.45 sessions.
  • Off-peak sessions include all weekday morning and afternoon sessions outside those specified above.

Weekday session times: 10.00, 11.00, 12.15, 13.30, 14.45, 16.00, 17.15, 18.30, 19.45, 21.00.

Weekend session times: 08.45, 10.00, 11.00, 12.15, 13.30, 14.45, 16.00, 17.15, 18.30, 19.45, 21.00.

Special student offer

All day, every Tuesday in November 2009 and January 2010, students can skate for just £6.50 and get a free drink at the bar.

Just show your student ID card at the Ice Rink box office to get your ticket. Keep hold of your ticket and show it at the bar to redeem your free drink.
