(Claw of Baryonyx walkeri) Baryonyx means 'heavy claw'. Unusually for a carnivorous dinosaur we know it ate fish as scientists have found fish scales and teeth with its fossil where its stomach would have been.

Discover the Museum at night

Explore the Museum after dark and meet up with friends for a drink, have a bite to eat or visit one of our world-class exhibitions.

We are open late the last Friday of every month for After Hours (except in December) and have regular special evening events that cater for both adults and children.

It's free to attend the Museum after hours but you need to buy tickets for some of our special events and exhibitions.
