Hands on Nature - Dinosaurs

Step back in time and discover more about dinosaurs using real fossil specimens.

Hands on Nature - Dinosaurs runs on weekends, and every day during school holidays, from 14.00 to 17.00 and you can drop in at any time during the session.

In this fun and educational activity children will:

  • look at a variety of prehistoric specimens and work out which were dinosaurs
  • compare dinosaur features with those of modern animals and birds
  • use dinosaur teeth fossils to work out what they ate
  • learn how scientists classify animals through studying fossil specimens
  • children can then put what they've learnt to the test in the Fossil Marine Reptiles gallery

The activity is held in the Fossil Marine Reptile gallery and is ideal for families with children aged 5- 12; older and younger family members are welcome.
